“It’s a milestone for me to both enliven my cooking gifts and see other people happy and satisfied with dishes I serve,” shared by the cheerful 52-year old Clarita Libao of the upcoming tenant, Mama’s Best.
Inspired by her family, Mrs.Clarita Libao pushes through new heights with her small business, "Mama's Best."
Fueled by ambitions of living her culinary prowess, together with hopes and family support, Mrs. Libao, started a small catering services that outfits small gathering around their residence. With joy, the thriving start-up flourished to now the one of the most awaited small restaurant opening very soon at The Square, a strip retail mall inside Downtown Lancaster.
So how everything else started?
Every pieces of inspiration rooted from their world’s most priceless responsibility: being a mom, being a “mama.” A “Mama” who usually cook good food every new smile of the sun and even at the end of its yellowish bloom.
And whenever there are ‘alien’ menus to study, she will probably do whatever it takes to make a perfectly-tasted meals --- ready to serve, ready to share. “Mama” - a simple endearment yet sugar-coated with sweetness and love.
From the beginning, “Mama” used to cook good foods ready to serve and to share to her loved one called “Children.”
Challenges came. Like any other sweet candies and delicacies, it all might thaw.
Since they came in the battlefield as start-up, major setbacks come along their ways. Labor budgeting and planning are few of the most distressing aspects they have to deal with. Monetary, as the most usual, hinders them from gearing to another heights.
“No spoiling in my kitchen,” Mrs. Libao buckled their foot forward, glanced back to the original plans and fight back. “Trusting ourselves and willingness to get help makes every impossibilities manageable,” shared Mrs. Libao. Thanks to family members who are willing to lend a hand and the Almighty God who is always there to guide and give a light to every ways – a flame to stock visions.
…and so they continue cooking. Tempting The Square diners very soon, Mama’s Best is now set to be the most sought-after gastro restaurant everybody should visit.
Talking about one of the most recommended dishes they can offer? They can brag “Mama’s Pancit Palabok,” an all-time favorite Filipino dish even more spiced with “umaapaw na toppings” and personally burst with love and flavors ready to play our hungry taste buds.
‘Palabok’ from the heart. Mama’s best specialty Pancit Palabok made even better with special toppings and chicharon.
A perfect Ingredient: lessons learned
The confident owner shared few things to remember in building a business. First is to set realistic goals, second is to eagerly ask advises, to be optimistic at all times and a the best location to put up your dream.
A retail space like The Square situated near their home is way up beneficial to Mrs. Libao. A complete amenities with exciting perks to freely enjoy lead them to live a life to the fullest while edifying everything in their business.
For Mrs. Libao, with easy accessibility, proximity to school, offices and residential areas, The Square is the perfect place to start a business.
More to this is a secured, quiet place to live, work, play and worship at Lancaster New City, whom they called a ‘home.’ No worries to build and sustain her business since everything is in one place – a perfect ambiance to get opportunities of sharing the taste from “mama” to the world.
A Quaint Café in the middle of a little town mall serving flavorful drinks, gourmet pastas and artisan coffee, gives Lancaster residents, new reasons to enjoy The Square once more. It all started with a desire to sip a coffee, a passion to serve good food and to taste a cherry on top of all of these dreams.
Newly married, Aileen and Cirilo Cruz moved to Lancaster New City a few years back, and saw the promising “future” of this community, once called a ‘deserted’ place. The idea to put up a café started on the couple’s glimpse on the advertised billboard of Suntech iPark. They knew right then and there that it will be a hit to BPO employees who would crave for anything to keep them awake --- Coffee and Sweets!
Then ideas branched out…
This young couple first decided to get a kiosk and then later put forward in acquiring a regular inline space at The Square. The passion to reach a new pinnacle brought the whole BBC team to recreate menus other than coffee. From this, cakes and pastries were baked; teas, juice, fresh drinks birthed; pastas and rice meals were tendered. All of these are 100% freshly-served, additive and preservative-less, with a pinch of sweetness and a smile.
The First year is always tough, the numbers didn’t go well as planned. The expected foot traffic were not coming in and the marketing strategies wasn’t working.
But with huge passion coupled with hard work and perseverance, the couple reinvented their main product line. New tastes were introduced and various marketing and selling channels were tried and tested.
SUCCESS came their way and they are now ready to open another restaurant at the same area that gave them the opportunity to grow endlessly.
Watch out for the opening of their Filipino Grill Restaurant, Don Cirilio BBQ & Grill on February 11 ,2017 at The Square..
